McDonald Burnie International is an event that as a smaller city, we are so privileged to have. To watch professional international tennis players, down the road from home is a money can buy opportunity. Although we gain in many other aspects, often living in a regional area, we find that sometimes we do miss out on some features of major city attractions. This event allows the community to see firsthand an international competition that they may not have been able to access before.
would like to congratulate and thank the Burnie Tennis Club for organising an outstanding event each year. Without the dedication from the members that volunteer throughout the year and in the lead up to this event, Burnie would not be able to have such a high standard of an event. On behalf of the community I genuinely thank you as you have represented Burnie proudly, Mayor Kons said.
